Dear Wetland Scientist,

As of Monday, October 2nd, the wetland delineation workshop and the student research competition have not yet been filled at the Annual Fall Meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists. This meeting is not limited to current members; please forward this invitation to relevant colleagues. For more information and to obtain a registration form, please visit:

We will meet from 5 to 7 October in Vicksburg, Mississippi at the Waterways Experiment Station. This will be a great weekend to visit Vicksburg because the city will be hosting their annual Fall Festival, Flea Market, and Rebstock. (see http://www.vicksburgcvb.org/calendar/october.html for more information)

Our meeting will consist of a wetland delineation workshop, research symposium, and associated field trips. Technical presentations will address, among other topics, stream restoration and the impacts of the recent Supreme Court decision on jurisdictional wetlands. Students are invited to present their research and compete for a $600.00 travel award to represent the South Central Chapter at the 2007 Annual SWS Conference (Sacramento, California).
