I have not been able to find a clear answer on how non-indicator status (NI) plant species are treated in the 50/20 Rule. For example, if an NI is >20% of the total cover for a given stratum, what is to be done with it? How are the rest of the species in that given stratum affected by the presence of the NI? I don't think the NI is supposed be on the wetland data form even if it was 100% of the stratum, correct?
Any help would be great, and I would appreciate a website and/or publication you can reference for the answer. I have looked in the 1987 Corps Manual, Ralph Tiner's Wetland Indicators book, and surfed the web.
Some of them have you look at the next nearest regional list to see if there is an indicator status. If no indicator is found then they discard it. Some don't deal with it. If there is a draft supplement for your region I would look for an answer there.
